Contractors Drive The Brand Decision In The Replacement Market
ARLINGTON, Texas Three out of every four homeowners select a contractor
first, then look at the brands the contractor carries according to a new
Decision Analyst study of homeowners who recently replaced their heating and
air conditioning systems. Only one in four picks a brand, then looks for
contractors that carry the brand.
According to The American Comfort Survey, an exhaustive study of heating
and air conditioning replacement purchases, a contractors recommendation
is the leading reason homeowners select one brand of heating and air
conditioning equipment over another.
"The study shows that manufacturers who do the best job building and
supporting their dealer network will grab the most market share," says
study author Matt Michel. "We found that contractors are even more
influential with higher income homeowners and when women are involved in the
purchase decision."
The American Comfort Report is one of the most accurate studies of
replacement purchases ever performed in the heating and air conditioning
industry. The study carries a margin of error of 3%.
